From the Founder's Heart

My husband and I were running our own skincare business for years until one day I had this very meaningful dream that forever changed our lives. I dreamt that a mother sold her children to me three (3) forP500.00 ($10), as I looked into her very sad eyes, I took my purse and opened it, I noticed that my money was not enough to buy her children but nevertheless I took out the P100 peso bill and as I took it out the money comes back. Then I woke up so disturbed. We fasted and prayed for 3 days and asked God for confirmation and He gave us His Word of promise in Isaiah 54. The promise was the reason that LOVE THE CHILDREN FOUNDATION, INC. came into existence.
It was a step of faith when my husband and I gave up everything we own and served the Lord. LTCF started its services to the orphan, abused and abandoned children for 20 years. LTCF became a channel of blessing to provide an alternative home with an environment for their biopsychological, and spiritual growth to the extent that they reach their full potential and become a useful, productive and godly member of the society.

Hundreds of children who have moved out of the orphanage have lived independently, reconciled with respective families and have been earning a living.
On December 2019, LTCF have closed down it’s orphanage but have strengthened its COMMUNITY PROGRAMS & SERVICES to various communities in Region XI by giving educational assistance to the poor, livelihood training, installation of community projects, spiritual development and disaster response.
It was on the year 2002 when LTCF sets a benchmark in the implementation of community projects to develop a comprehensive initiative that is sensitive to poverty alleviation of the community. Poverty robs the families to enjoy the quality of life. LTCF strategize to concentrate on sustainable livelihood at least to lessen the poor families in the community and to empower them towards economic stability. The success of this prevailing issues can play a significant role to achieve the full potential of each family.

According to Philippine Statistic Authority 19 out of 100 Davaoweno is poor. Davaoweño families consisting of five members, the average Filipino family size, must have had a regular source of income amounting to PhP129,559 in 2018 or a monthly income of PhP10,797 to be able to meet their most basic food and non-food needs. Thus, a sole wage earner in a five-member family living in the Davao region had to work hard in getting the entire family out of poverty with at most PhP355 income per day.
