Tribal Outreach and Partnership for Livelihood opportunities

The T’boli tribe, indigenous to South Cotabato, Philippines, is renowned for their rich cultural heritage, particularly their traditional crafts such as the bead works and metal crafts. However, these artisans face economic challenges due to limited market access and the labor-intensive nature of their crafts. In the SOCCSKSARGEN region, which includes South Cotabato, the average family income was ₱114,000 (approximately US$2,235) in 2006, significantly lower than the national average of ₱173,000 (US$3,390) . This economic disparity underscores the need for sustainable livelihood initiatives to support the T’boli artisans. Love the Children Foundation’s Tribal Outreach and Partnership for Livelihood Opportunities aims to address these challenges by providing sustainable income-generating programs. By offering skills training, improving market access, and promoting cultural preservation, this initiative empowers the T’boli community to achieve financial stability while preserving their traditions.
